Embossing and Debossing

Embossing and debossing are similar processes that create different results.

Both embossing and debossing refer to the act of making a physical impression on the stock.

Embossing adds a dimension of light and shade

The stock can be a raised design (embossed) or a depression (debossed). Reverse embossing is a technique that leaves a subtle mark on both side of the stock. This technique adds the element of texture that increases the light and shade of your design.

Both techniques can applied as a single technique or in combination with ink or foil stamping.
